About our Wrangler & Friends book:

In 2017, our family took in Wrangler and began a journey with him you could only find in storybooks. When we rescued Wrangler, he was underweight, missing part of his eyelid, and had scarring from ropes being tied around his neck. Wrangler was petrified of humans, shaking in nervousness and hiding in corners at the sight of one. But, he quickly became curious about children. Kids’ pure hearts and short statures calmed Wrangler and slowly helped his adult humans earn his trust. Then, Lammie arrived. From their first meeting, an unlikely friendship flourished as Wrangler watched just how lovely life could be through Lammie’s love of humans and treats! Wrangler stopped being too nervous to eat with Lammie at his side. And, just like in our book, one day we spotted Wrangler and Lammie happily jumping in the air. Just as Wrangler’s thin sides and scars diminished, Twiglet came into our world as Wrangler’s ultimate protector. Twiglet’s presence brought the feel of safety Wrangler needed to finally lay down for a deep rest, as long as Twiglet was his pillow. Today, 8-year-old Wrangler is well-rested with a happy heart and a full belly. He resides with his playmate, Lammie, and goat pillow, Twiglet. During Wrangler’s breaks from resting and snacking, he works as a registered therapy horse while visiting schools, libraries, and families.
